I spent an entire day over the weekend practicing my machine quilting and free motion quilting, and had the best day!
This is my first string-pieced quilt, on which I practiced straight lines.
This is my triangle-square mini, with more straight lines and in-the-ditch quilting:
Here’s a closeup of that one. I think this fabric, from the Midwest Modern 2 collection, would be fun to quilt following the floral designs. Not sure what to do with this piece – maybe turn it into some kind of tote bag.
I had a few charm squares left over from this quilt, so I made a mini and quilted it:
I just have to finish sewing on the binding to these mini quilts, and then I will post pictures of the finished projects. I really love working on mini quilts – such a great way to use up scraps and experiment with different designs and quilting. Next up, quilt this one and this one.
