Weekend Away

We are headed north to my parent’s cottage for the weekend. It’s a 4.5-hour drive, so I am looking forward to losing myself in my new book. Considering I read the first book in one day, I will probably finish the next one pretty quickly. But I might need to re-read the first one because I read it sooo fast.

I am looking forward to kayaking, biking, hiking, ice cream, and bon fires on the beach. I am bringing along a quilt that I need to sew the binding on, and my art supplies too.

I hope we aren’t too busy so I have time to daydream over the water. Hope you lose yourself in something wonderful this weekend!

  1. Have a wonderful time, Terri. It sounds fabulous!! It’s been ages since I’ve taken a trip anywhere in a car, but those just perfect right about now. 🙂

  2. Have a good trip! I still just love that coin quilt. I think we’ll just spend the weekend by the pool~it’s supposed to be 97° here.

  3. The outer edge of that quilt creates an exceptional frame; it really stands out in a great way! I’m going to remember that! Skip a stone on the lake for all of us who can’t get away!!

  4. Sounds like so much fun! I’d never heard of Door Country Wisconsin! And every one I know who reads the books you’re reading is hooked!!!

  5. Oh my gosh am I just SO jealous of you. I LOVE that area. If you have time go have some goodies at the Swedish bakery at the Wagon Wheel Resort. If you love granola theirs is the best. They make a cherry granola and it’s awesome. Of course, anything in their bakery case is to die for. YUM!

Enjoy the weekend. You’re very lucky to have escaped the storms down your way. I was very glad hubby didn’t have to work today since he works in Madison and the reports are that the police reported baseball sized hail last night. ACK.

  6. Enjoy your weekend. Your quilt is lovely, I like the white borders. Good Luck finishing the binding, I was two quilts back from the quilter waiting to be bound.

  7. Sweet sigh….cottage weekend by the sea – sounds dreamy. I’ve read the books too – don’t they just pull you in? Have a great weekend.
