I am always inspired by Anina’s list of books she read over the year. Every year, I wish I made more time to read, but I’m happy with my list. I read four of those books twice; does that mean I can count them twice? I also like keeping track of the books I read from year to year.

The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant (very interesting story)
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
Amsterdam by Ian McEwan
I do have to confess (publicly) that the Twilight books were my favorites, but I also loved the Wicked Lovely series, and The Gargoyle!
I received a few books for Christmas (among other things), but I’m always on the hunt for more tips to good reads, so I would be interested in hearing any recommendations you have.

my favorite book this year was to kill a mockingbird. i was so sad when it was done–the story is that good!
My 2009 book list is so much shorter…but I hope to read more in 2010! I loved “The Secret Life of Bees,” “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society,” and “Three Cups of Tea.” I’m reading “Stones into Schools” now (the sequel to Tea).
Well, if you want to stick with the vampires, I recommend the Sookie Stackhouse series – I’m working my way thru them right now.
And if you want to stick in the Young Adult genre, I would go with the Hunger Games trilogy (although the 3rd book won’t be out until later this year, so maybe you should wait until that one comes out to start them). 🙂
I think that’s a pretty great list. I’ve never read Melissa Marr, I’ll have to give it a try since you liked so many of her books. My most favorite book of 2009 was “The Help” by Kathryn Stockett. I LOVED that book. Read on, my friend!

Sounds like a good list of books. I’ve heard “The story of Edgar Sawtelle” is a good read and my sister just passed on “A Thousand Splendid Suns”. Looking forward to reading this one.

If you are ever in need for a cozy mystery I can Highly recommend: Lorna Barrett (Booktown Mysteries), Victoria Laurie (Psychic Eye Mysteries) and I just LOVED reading Ann George as she is just downright funny!

I’m still trying to finish the Twilight series, which I started while on my travels this summer. On the last chapter of New Moon.
Since I really don’t read too much fiction, I can’t really give you any recommendations. Looks like you could use a book reader!
You’ve done well! Sadly, I think I only read like four books last year. Teaching reading usually means I don’t want to read on my own 😦 I’ll be curious to hear about what you think of The Host.
