Learning to Appreciate Mondays

Mondays are not my favorite day of the week, so I appreciate Paula’s theme of finding something to be happy about on Mondays. I am happy today that it’s a short work week. Easter is next weekend, and my office is closed on Good Friday. It’s a strange holiday for an insurance / financial services company to be closed, but hey, I’m not complaining. It has been a long stretch since we had a holiday, the last one being New Year’s Day.

I am happy to be facing a four-day work week, and since Monday is almost over, I only have three days left!

I am also feeling encouraged today because I have been spending more time recently learning how to spruce up my blog, from appearance to content. I have a growing list of new ideas which inspires me.

I have about seven projects in progress on my sewing table, and that motivates me. My creative juices were definitely flowing over the weekend, and I can’t wait to get back to my sewing space!

Hope you found something to be happy about today too!

  1. Yesterday I wrote a post about being thankful, but today has not been the best of days for me. Migraine all day (so stayed home from work), and my head still hurts, but I have to go to a meeting now. How about if I’m happy that my headache will surely be gone by the morning?! I’m also happy for you that you have a short work week (hey — I guess I will too since I stayed home today) and that you have those lovely Nicey Jane fabrics. Let that creativity flow!

  2. It’s good to find the ‘great’ in the mundane. Have fun sprucing up your blog, it’s looking great! I’ve been doing a little spring cleaning over at Craftyblossom too! Oh, and I love those Nicey Jane fabrics, can’t wait to see what you’re doin’…

  3. My husband looked over my shoulder the other day and exclaimed “crocuses!” At which I turned around and said “huh?” Seeing as I’m not the green thumb type, he had to explain he liked the flowers at the top of your blog. I thought they were pretty, but there’s no way I could have identified them 🙂

I also really like your keeping up with the Makes Me Happy Mondays. I tend towards sarcastic and pessimistic and every now and again it is nice to get a kick in the pants to say “Hey, today COULD be a good day if you would just let it.” So I’m trying-thanks for keeping me on my toes!

  4. Love your Monday post! I’m so happy that you get Friday off. No holidays since New Year’s Day? You are WAY overdue! Enjoy your short week!

  5. Couldn’t agree more about the Easter Holidays -a long weekend – bliss!

Your cat in a box is soo cute 😀

Have a great week and a fantastic weekend break x

  6. Your cats are adorable! They look for soft, I could just reach inside my screen and pet them. I like your blog’s new look and your fabrics are YUMMY. Enjoy the rest of your week and have fun stitching.

  7. Love the kitties! Your blog is looking great …it must be blog make-over week or something! I’ve been working on mine, too:)

    Have a great short week!

  8. I love the kitty in the box and your Nicey Jane fabric. I don’t think I have any of it. Are the prints as large scale as her last line?

  9. You always inspire me. You always are working on something. My computer crashed and died. So I’m trying to use a old desk top of my daughters and I hate it. So I’m slow answering. I can’t wait to get a new one. Hopefully soon

  10. Mondays aren’t my favorite day either. Love the fabric you’re working with, can’t wait to see your finished project. Cute kitties and the blog looks great too.
