I can’t remember the last time I laughed so much that my cheeks hurt! I just returned from my first quilt retreat – what an amazing weekend.
The retreat center was amazing, and the quilt shop was overwhelming and wonderful.
The best part was our group of women. You know them:
Shelly S of Shelly’s Quilts
Shelly P of Prairie Moon Quilts
Andrea of The Little Collection
Mary of Mary on Lake Pulaski
Doris of Threads of Conversation
Amanda of Crazy Mom Quilts
Toni of All Tangled Up in My Underwear
Rene of Rene’s Creations
Heather of Anka’s Treasures
Victoria of Bumble Beans Inc.
If you haven’t visited these blogs lately, go straight there. Your cup will overflow with inspiration and happiness.
I also can’t remember the last time I sewed ALL day, and then stayed up past midnight to continue sewing!
I got these two quilt tops almost finished (the one above needs a couple more rows, and the one below needs a wide white border).
I made progress on a third project, with all the blocks made and sashing on about half of the blocks.
We talked, we shopped, we browsed the MN Quilt show, we sewed, we shopped, we loosened up, we ate, we sewed, we laughed, we sewed, we laughed, we sewed, we slept a little. I am so thankful to know such wonderful women! I feel lucky to be able to call them my friends.
Don’t forget to check out my post about the upcoming Christmas in July Ornament Swap!
WOW way to go sweet terri! Your retreat sounds wonderful and soo inspiring! I have always want to go for a retreat but it’s so hard to find one around here! Thanks so much for sharing and your quilts are gorgeous as always! Have a lovely merry happy week and love to you!
What an awesome retreat! I’m jealous. I’ve never been on a quilt retreat before.
How fun!! I would love to do a retreat and hang out with some like-minded folks! Your quilt tops look great…thanks for sharing 🙂
I don’t know how you got all that great sewing done with so much else going on, but love, love those quilts! Cannot wait to hear more – after adaquate rest, of course!
How did I miss seeing those pinwheels? There was too much going on — I knew I’d miss something! It was soooo fun the entire weekend, I didn’t want to return to my normal life, which seems so boring now! I loved meeting everyone in person, and I hope we get to do it again . . . keep in touch!
Color palette here is sew pretty and pleasing to the eye;) I like the simplicity of the 1st and 2nd quilt top you have pictured here.
Wow…what an amazing group you got to retreat with! And your projects look great!
That sounds like so much fun and you got a lot accomplished in the midst of the socializing!
Sounds like tons of fun Terri!! Love the two quilt tops you put together and the pinwheel blocks. It’s amazing you got so much done while visiting. Aren’t retreats the best? We always have some type of class and show & tell, so that takes time away from your projects also.
So glad you had a wonderful time and got so much done!
The pinwheel blocks are so cute with the stripes:)
This sounds like so much fun. I’m glad you had such a great time!!!
MINE TOO, TERRI!!!! Glad to hear you are safely back home…hard to go into work this a.m., wasn’t it?!
What fun!!!
Is that the Little Gems quilt I’m seeing?
Wow Terri! I’m so happy for you! I would say that I’m jealous (because…I am…a little…) but I’m more happy! You look like you had a wonderful time and I can hear the happiness in your voice! What a wonderful treat and wonderful weekend 🙂
Jealous, yes I am. I have never gone on a retreat and I read on blog land about lots of retreats people go on. They all have so much fun. Maybe some day I’ll get on one. It sounds like you had a great time. All the sewing was worth it looking at what you got done. I have alwas said you get more done when your working with friends. Glad you had a great time.
Good for you..Love that you did this…you rock my world sweet pea!!
Terri, I didn’t realize it was your first quilt retreat too. I think we have been spoiled…the bar has been placed rather high…wouldn’t you agree? I so enjoyed sewing next to you! I didn’t get to see that first quilt top all put together. It looks great! I am ready for the next retreat! When and where is it? 😉
Wow! What a fun time, and with so many quilters we all know and love!
Your quilts are absolutely wonderful!

Oh my gosh! I’ve been busy busy busy this week and am just now getting caught up. HOW FUN that you did this last weekend!!! I’m totally jealous. I think that would have been the perfect event for me to kick myself back into sewing (been too busy lately and not in the mood when I get a moment to breathe). Your quilt top looks awesome!
WOW! Your quilts you made at your retreat are amazing. How fun! I have not been to a retreat, but sewing all day and into the night sounds like heaven.
