First Day

Thank you all for your wonderful wishes on my last day! Your encouragement and moral support really mean the world to me!

Today I enjoyed finishing my coffee at home, in a ceramic mug instead of a plastic, insulated travel mug while sitting in a cubicle. It was fabulous!

I did some chores. How nice to get errands done at 9:00 in the morning, when no one else is at the post office or in the stores.

I worked on a few crafts.

It was a good first day of my new beginning!

  1. Yay for your! Since I was gone all last week and didn’t get to do as much catching up on blog reading as I had anticipated, I just read your last post. Wow, such a change. It sounds fascinating. And that bag is fabulous! Love the colors!!!! Good for you to make such a change in your life. I’ll enjoy following along and maybe doing a little living vicariously.

  2. Oh yea, paying bills, getting groceries, going to the post office are all wonderful perks of not having a job. Another is to go out to lunch with a buddy and go BEFORE the lunch rush so you can relax and actually talk. LOL My hubby works an hour from home, actually up near you and gets one day off every two weeks. On that day off we will often go out to lunch together either before or after that noon rush and love it because it’s always so quiet.

I LOVE the two blue fabrics you have in that picture. So pretty. My granddaughter just adores blue although I think if she were closer I’d be able to convert her to being like grandma and want purple more. LOL

  3. Those fabrics are yummy-looking; they also make me think: Summer! Cannot wait to see what they become! It is really heartening to know that you are where you want to be!

  4. I’m glad that you enjoyed your first day off. Get all the sewing in before school starts for then it will be school work time. I think its great you are doing what you really have in your heart to do, not many these days would take that chance. You will do fine and go far. Oh I love those colors-are they going together into something???

  5. Terri,
I just can’t tell you how happy I am for you! Believe it or not, soon enough, you’ll be busier than you were when you were working! However, there is something to be said for coffee finished at home (I gave up caffeine, so now it’s a smoothie), a morning full of completed errands and a relaxing afternoon spent doing things that inspire you! Congratulations!!

  6. I miss a couple of days and everything changes for the good. Terri, I’m so happy for you! You have talent girl!!! I know you are really going to love your new direction. I think when you do something you love it is never work. Congratulations!!

  7. Terri!

Did it feel weird~or maybe like the first day of a 2 week vacation? I know when I left work after the twins were born, I kept waking up at 5a thinking. . .what day is it. . .do I leave for work?. . . I’m so happy for you! Enjoy your crafty time!

  8. I’m happy that you have a little time to relax and enjoy. I will agree in no time at all you’ll be so busy you won’t know how you had time to work. Yeah!! Good bye cubicle..

  9. You gave such great ideas on fabrics to add to those first two on the right – I have them too! Terri – I’m just so excited to hear you decided on school – after talking at retreat it’s just neat to see you following that dream. Already wishing on a new retreat and hope to get together next year! Heck – I’d even head your way sooner – can’t be that far for a quilt weekend!

  10. Terri, I am so happy for you. Do you feel free now (even though you are going to be busy)? Didn’t you say you were going to take some classes? Do they start this fall? Yay for a more creative life!

  11. I’ve been SO out of the loop!
Congratulations on finally cutting those ties and good luck on all your new ventures.
I can’t wait to see what comes next…

  12. Good for you Terri!! So glad you enjoyed your first day. Doesn’t coffee taste better in your favorite ceramic mug rather than an insulated or styrofoam cup?! Errands are definitely better when you can do them early before the crowds. I look forward to hearing how you enjoy your classes.
