Another sunny day of 70s and 80s is forecasted for us here in the upper midwest.
We had a little yard work to do this weekend, and we squeezed in a walk down a trail close to our house.
We did a little pumpkin shopping too.
The garden center had a huge selection of pumpkins, as well as lots and lots of beautiful mums.
I especially loved the displays they had set up around the property.
I wish my front porch looked like this!
I’m off to work on more homework now. We moved from Photoshop to Illustrator, which is harder. In my drawing class, we have been drawing fruits and vegetables, and learning about light and shadows. The technique we’re using, laying down charcoal as a background value and then drawing the objects with erasers and charcoal pencil, is like drawing backwards. So fun!
Hope you are all enjoying a nice October weekend too!
Hello Terri, what a lovely post! So wonderful photos! And I saw you have a great wooden ‘chair’ in your garden! Enjoy you drawing class, I have been painting also this weekend after a while! It’s so much fun but how to find time for everything we like to do!
Best wishes Teje
Your yard looks great Terri – it’s lovely to see a bit of sunshine even if it is on photos. What a fabulous garden centre and display – you’ve really captured the colours.
Sounds like you are learning loads of great techniques in drawing class… great picture, the shadow underneath the object looks brilliant.
Wow, lovely weather…it’s getting cold here in Italy! And I love that photo of the tree with pumpkins in it…that would be totally cool, I agree! 🙂
We used that charcoal technique in my drawing class last quarter. I thought it was really fun too! Your drawing looks great — all those bumps with their little shadows must have taken a while!
I love your sketch! Amazing detail-very impressive 🙂 I thought about you this weekend! We went to the Dekalb Farmer’s market in Atlanta with my mother (it’s international and like a farmer’s market on steroids http://www.dekalbfarmersmarket.com) and I wanted so badly to take pretty pictures like you do! Unfortunately, they don’t let you take pictures–like big signs that say “no photography.” Strange. Glad you had a great weekend!
These pictures are absolutely gorgeous…they just say “perfect fall” to me!
I just love seeing what you are doing in your classes. Your drawing is fantastic! Our daughter did a portrait of our English Setter with that technique and it was not easy, esp. getting all the hair detail!
Boy, how I wish I lived near a walking path that looked like that! Incredible weather here in the Mid-Midwest, too!
Your yard is beautiful and so are the photo’s Terri! I love the fall colors in the trees. We’re finally getting the 80’s also. Yeah!! Your drawing is so detailed and fantastic, great job!
The pics are great it makes it look so fall like. Here it got to 90 yesturday. way to hot. I’m off to Branson MO. so hopefully cooler there. Its by the water so it should be.
Your gourd drawing is great also keep up the good work. I can tell you have found your calling with those classes. Your pictures you take are so good. Great color and centering of the objects
It looks like you had such a fun weekend. It’s really hard not to love Fall. Good luck and have fun with all the new things you are learning in class!
I love those tree pumpkins! And your drawing looks great! Are you planning to put your artistic skills to work carving any pumpkins this year?
If so, I would love to see those pictures as well!
