Have I ever mentioned to you how much I love hiking? My apologies if I’m repeating myself.
We met my parents at a state park this past weekend for a hike and a picnic.
The area was formed when the glaciers traveled through our part of the world, leaving behind rolling hills and kettles which look like big bowls in the landscape. They also left behind gorgeous scenery for hiking, from deciduous woods to prairies to tall pines.
The woods always smell so good to me, especially in fall.
These particular woods have 100-foot-tall pine trees, which seem so mysterious and peaceful in the same breath.
It was such a beautiful day. The kind of day you treasure this time of year because you know winter is just around the corner. Then I will be hiking in these woods with my snowshoes on!
Happy November to everyone. It’s my favorite month of the year for about 40-something reasons! wink wink
I love fall also. Its my favorite time of year. That looked like a nice place to go walk.
The pictures are great. Glad you had a nice weekend. Hope November is good to you also. Its my month also!!!!
Ahhhh Terri – you are making me breathe deep and imagine I’m standing in amongst that fresh pine scented air. What a fabulous place! I love hiking though I have barely done any for the last couple of years (can get so tied to the house, chores, childrens wants etc)
I’ve promised myself this next year I’m going to make a point of getting out in nature at least once or twice a week.
Hmmmm – is November a special month for you? wink*wink lol
Hello Terri! Wonderful nature for hiking! I miss forest and big trees – we don’t have much them here in Crete.
Congratulations! (or is it too early…)
Sunny but quite ‘fresh’ wishes! Teje
How fun! I love fall too… Thanks for taking us along on your hike!
Jennifer 🙂
I used to go hiking with my dogs all the time-always fun and exciting to get back to nature! Looks like you guys had a ball 🙂
Beautiful pictures. Well, wadda ya know: November is special to me too, but for fifty-something reasons.
Wow, your pics are amazing! Those trees are really cool. I’m not much of the hiking type, but it would be hard to resist with a view like that! You look great, too, btw!!

About the festival: can we see the quilts also aften 5.11. when the festival is closed?

I love November because the weather will do everything – today we had rain, snow, hail, oh, and sun! It’s also been a great month for travel in recent years, right Terri?!!
