Floating Stars Finished

I can’t believe I finished my Floating Stars wall hanging already!

I started this project at my annual summer quilting retreat.

Only a month later, it’s quilted and bound, and ready to hang. I did some echo quilting inside each star and inside each border, and then some free-motion quilting in all the white space.

This was one of those projects that I just made up on the fly, and I’m loving the results!

PS – forgot to mention that this wallhanging measures 32 inches around.

  1. I love the stars! I made a circle of stars block for one of my bees a while back-that’s a LOT of teeny tiny pieces! It looks fantastic and I’m sure it will make you smile every single time you look at it!

  2. I love that quilt. I have seen so many quilts this year made with white, grey or black background and I keep telling myself to make one. I have not yet. Someday I will,- to many things in the fire right now.

  3. this is awesome Terri and I really like the tile patterned fabric on the back left side. This plum/purple color is popping up a lot lately. Glad you got it finished so quickly as well:)

  4. Oh, Terri, it really turned out great! You’re inspiring me AGAIN! (See my blog today to see how you’ve inspired me already!) I really love it. The colors, the fabrics, the maverick stars, the borders…everything. Nice going!

  5. Dearest sweet terri, your floating starts are just beautiful! I really love how it turns out and your fabrics are just so pretty! Have a lovely merry happy weekend and love to you!

  6. I’ve been having a great time catching up on all you have been doing! Sorry, I have been so busy!

I love all of your postcards, I especially love the ones picturing change! You’re so right, you need to be able to adapt and be flexible..

And I love your floating stars wall hanging! It came out wonderfully! And the colors work so well for this time of the year (I know you started it earlier, but they are great for end of summer too!) It’s just beautiful!

    Take care,
    Cheryl
