Home Office Perk No. 2: Coffee On the House
I am preparing to take on a lot more freelance design work very soon so I have been getting my home office organized and ready for business. Since it’s my office and my design business, I decided to have some fun and make my own home office rules.
Home Office Perk No. 2: Coffee on the House
Coffee will be provided on the house throughout the day. I really love coffee and will admit I’m a coffee snob, so it’s important to me to have really good coffee. I usually prefer medium roast from Starbucks, but I am open to coffee from local roasters.
I’ve worked in places where the coffee was just bad. Or flavored and fake tasting. Or it wasn’t provided at all. (Note: the home office will accommodate non-coffee drinkers with tea, hot chocolate, lemonade, and water, of course.)
A coffee break around 2:30 or 3:00 in the afternoon is encouraged to stretch, get some fresh air, and step away from your project for a fresh perspective.
Some offices have rules like hours, dress code, music, pets, contests and more, so I thought it would be fun to make a list of rules for my very own office, but more like concepts or an atmosphere that encourages creativity and individuality. I want the home office to be as creative environment as possible. Stay tuned over the next few weeks for more fun rules!
