Inspiration Wednesday: Art Crush on Elizabeth Olwen

My newest art crush is on Elizabeth Olwen, a surface designer from Toronto. I first learned about her when I saw her feature in issue #21 of Uppercase magazine, the surface design issue.

Elizabeth gets her inspiration from pastoral beauty, nature in its most playful forms, folklore, and romance.

She has a growing collection of licensed products available in the market, including fabrics, paper goods, announcements, pillows, iPhone cases, handkerchiefs, notecards, and wallpaper; with clients like TeNeues Publishing, Wallpapered.com, Landor, Cloud9 Fabrics, Target and Madison Park Greetings.

She had a booth at this year’s Surtex surface design trade show, while a new collection of her fabrics were being shown at the Cloud 9 booth at Quilt Market… on the same weekend.

How awesome is that!

I love her fun, hand drawn style with floral patterns, nature compositions, and soft colors mixed in with a few bolds. I love the cheerful, upbeat tone and the movement throughout her patterns

Hope you are finding some inspiration today.
