One of the days we were in Guangzhou, we went to the Highsun Fabric Market. The buildings were several floors high, with vendor after vendor selling fabric at wholesale prices, from silk to suiting to cotton for dress shirts to everything else you could think of.
It was amazing, but overwhelming, even for a fabric lover like me. We only had time for one floor, so now I wish I could go back and explore more floors and more vendors. I might have to send my sister on a shopping spree for me.
I bought several yards of upholstery weight fabric for about $4 per yard after the conversion from RMB to US dollars.
I am going to make cushions for our patio chairs from these sweet cherries:
I’m planning to make a skirt from this one:
I am contemplating making either a sundress or a skirt with this fabric. It has a nice solid black border for the bottom and subtle pink highlights around the flowers.
Share some of the fabrics from your stash by joining the Sunday Stash group.
Check out everyone else’s stash at the flickr group. It’s fun to see the variety of fabrics out there, many of which I have not seen anywhere else.
