September mailing is out in the wild

The Wild Things Mail Club September mailing has made its way out into the world.

This month’s theme is Adventure Ahead, and I’ve been especially excited to send this one off into the woods—and into your mailboxes.

Inside the Nature Wonders mailing, you’ll find a collection inspired by those first hints of autumn: warm colors, woodland discoveries, butterflies, leaves, and a few little invitations to slow down and notice what’s around you.

There’s also a new Field Guide activity to tuck into your pocket and take outside.

And then there’s Felix the Squirrel and Marty the Crow.

Their second adventure has officially begun! The Storykeeper members received Chapter Two of their story along with a few bits of ephemera designed to make it feel as though their little world in Acorn Hollow has wandered right into your mailbox.

I’ve been having far too much fun with these two.

I can’t show you everything yet.

But I can give you a little peek.

Lost and Found.

That’s all I’m saying for now.

The September mail may have left my desk, but there are already new adventures taking shape here in the studio.

And I have a feeling Felix and Marty may have a few more things to tell us.

Wild Things Mail Club is a little monthly escape into the woods—an envelope filled with illustrated stationery, tiny discoveries, stories, and bits of woodland wonder.

Something fun to open. Something new to notice. Something cherished to keep.

What Wild Things Mail Club Members Will Discover

Imagine opening your mailbox on an ordinary afternoon and finding an envelope waiting inside.

You carry it indoors, set aside the day’s errands and to-do lists, and carefully open the flap.

Inside are a few small discoveries.

A story card that continues a woodland adventure.

A paper treasure tucked between the pages.

An illustrated keepsake inspired by the natural world.

Perhaps a note, a sticker, or a tiny surprise.

For a few moments, the pace of the day slows.

You find yourself wandering through a story, studying the details of an illustration, or imagining the woodland residents who might have sent the contents your way.

That is the experience I hope to create with Wild Things Mail Club.

Not simply a collection of paper goods, but a monthly invitation to pause, explore, and delight in small wonders.

The first envelopes begin their journey this August.

Monthly Subscription of Paper Goods

I am happy to report that I’m still loving my monthly subscription to the Olive Box, which comes chock–full of stationery and paper goods.

Here are goodies from the May box, which had a breakfast theme, and included a bagel notecard from Fish and Cake Design, a pancake notepad from Pen and Deli, and coffee magnets from Badge Bomb. I adore those coffee magnets, which look great on the magnetic white board in my home office.

Here are the goodies from my April box, which had a “sweet as honey” theme, and included a beehive notecard from Rifle Paper Co., a beehive decomposition book/notebook from Michael Roger, a set of beehive notecards from Wit and Whistle, a bee balm tin from Worker B, and a coupon for a free art print from Bonnie Christine. Such a great theme, especially with the increased awareness of the fragility of the bee population these days.

I just received notice that my June box is on the way, so I’m excited to see what theme of stationery and paper goodies they put together for this next box.

Snail Mail Treasures

Receiving any snail mail is a good thing. I’ve added some great treasures to my collection lately.

I received another letter from my Paris Letters subscription, which talked about the flowers starting to bloom in spring in Paris. I always feel like I’m right there seeing, hearing and smelling the sights alongside Janice as she writes and illustrates her letters.

I also have this beautiful collection of watercolor postcards from my friend Cindy, with whom I started exchanging postcards this year. She realized how difficult it is to find postcards these days, so she prints her own using photos and the Waterlogue app.

For my monthly subscription of paper goods from OliveBox, I received this box of treasures in March, which included Samantha Hahn‘s new book of watercolor illustrations of women characters in fiction, one of her prints and a lovely watercolor notecard from Monica Lee. I was especially thrilled to receive anything done by THE Samantha Hahn, a famous illustrator and designer, whom we studied in design school. Each portrait is painted so beautifully, and the quote is hand written to match the mood of the character and her scene.
