What’s Inside Tier 2?

Wild Things Mail Club by Terri Wilhelm

A Little More to the Story

Each month, Wild Things Mail Club Tier 2 members receive the next chapter of our ongoing woodland story, along with a few handmade treasures that belong to the world of the story.

Wild Things Mail Club by Terri Wilhelm

Alongside the illustrated story card, you’ll find a little piece of ephemera inspired by that month’s character, setting, or adventure. A field note, a keepsake, a tiny bit of correspondence—each one is designed to feel as though it has wandered out of the story and into your mailbox.

I love these little details because they make the story feel more real. They’re not necessarily things you need… they’re simply little things to discover, keep, and enjoy.

Think of them as tiny souvenirs from Acorn Hollow.

Each month’s mailing is a small invitation to slow down, follow along, and step a little further into the story.

Wild Things Mail Club by Terri Wilhelm

Wondering what you’ll find inside the Wild Things Mail Club mailings?

Wild Things Mail Club by Terri Wilhelm

Every Wild Things mailing is created around a simple idea: a little bit of nature can invite us to slow down, notice, and connect.

Wild Things Mail Club by Terri Wilhelm

Each month, you’ll find a small collection of illustrated treasures with a purpose:

Something to keep

A little piece of illustrated nature to tuck into a journal, display, or simply enjoy.

Something to send

A postcard or greeting card made for sharing a little wild wonder with someone else.

Something to write on

Tiny notes and stationery for thoughts, observations, lists, or whatever you’d like to put on paper.

Something to discover

A field-guide-inspired invitation to look a little closer at the natural world around you.

And a few little surprises along the way.

Because opening the mailbox should still feel a little bit magical.

Wild Things Mail Club is Officially Open

Wild Things Mail Club by Terri Wilhelm

Hello friends,

The day is finally here… Wild Things Mail Club is officially open!

Wild Things Mail Club by Terri Wilhelm

What began as sketchbook pages, woodland stories, and countless ideas has grown into a monthly envelope filled with illustrated paper treasures inspired by the natural world.

Each month you’ll discover new illustrations, stationery, stories, and keepsakes inspired by forests, wildlife, and the quiet joy of noticing the little things. It’s also a great opportunity to send a note to someone your life letting them know you’re thinking about them.

I can’t wait to begin sending these envelopes out into the world and imagine them arriving in mailboxes across the country. The first Wild Things Mail Club envelopes will begin shipping on August 7.

What’s the point?

Wildlife Stickers by Terri Wilhelm

What’s the point of starting/joining a subscription snail mail club? I was explaining to my 84-year-old mom what a subscription snail mail club is. She asked, “what’s the point?” But then she told me that many of the residents at the retirement community where she lives sit in chairs near the mailroom waiting for the postal carrier to deliver their mail. Every single day. And they’re disappointed when all they get are ads and bills.Junk mail by Terri Wilhelm

Ding Ding Ding! That is the point of signing up to a subscription snail mail club. You get a wonderful letter in the mail, connecting with someone out there in the world.

As is typical of me, I wanted to offer something a little different, a little more. I wanted to provide people with supplies to send your own snail mail. Hence, a postcard and greeting card and a coordinating sticker. My Wild Things Snail Mail Club also includes a bookmark because reading a good old fashioned paper book is so much better than a digital book, so you need a nice bookmark. And, you get a tiny note with an envelope so you can pass on a handwritten message, “Thinking of you” to someone. Believe me, it will make their day!

Wild Things Mail Club by Terri Wilhelm

My mail club will include a snail mail letter from me but it has a twist – a reminder, an invitation to notice something today, even if it’s just on your daily walk or exploring in your own backyard or going on a micro adventure.

Wild Things Mail Club by Terri Wilhelm

My sister and I have been sending each other a postcard a week for over ten years. Sometimes it’s just a couple lines about how beautiful the weather has been. Other times, it’s a note about a fun night out with friends It’s not hard to do. And it means the world to open that mailbox and find a note from her, to know she’s thinking of me amidst her busy life. It’s also very satisfying to pass on that feeling to her.

The point is to pay attention to the natural world, to get away from the TV, computer, tablet and phone screens. And to connect with others.

I’d love for you to join today and start noticing everyday adventures waiting just outside your door—the winding trails, tiny discoveries, and quiet moments that remind us to stay curious.

What Wild Things Mail Club Members Will Discover

Tiny Nature Notes by Terri Wilhelm

Imagine opening your mailbox on an ordinary afternoon and finding an envelope waiting inside.

Wildlife Stickers by Terri Wilhelm

You carry it indoors, set aside the day’s errands and to-do lists, and carefully open the flap.

Wild Things Mail Club by Terri Wilhelm

Inside are a few small discoveries.

A story card that continues a woodland adventure.

A paper treasure tucked between the pages.

An illustrated keepsake inspired by the natural world.

Perhaps a note, a sticker, or a tiny surprise.

For a few moments, the pace of the day slows.

You find yourself wandering through a story, studying the details of an illustration, or imagining the woodland residents who might have sent the contents your way.

Tiny Nature Notes by Terri Wilhelm

That is the experience I hope to create with Wild Things Mail Club.

Not simply a collection of paper goods, but a monthly invitation to pause, explore, and delight in small wonders.

The first envelopes begin their journey this August.

I can’t wait to share them with you.

A Peek Inside the Drawing Desk

Character Sketch by Terri Wilhelm

Long before a Wild Things Mail Club envelope arrives in your mailbox, it begins as a pencil sketch.

New woodland wreaths by Terri Wilhelm

Characters are introduced in a sketchbook. Tiny details are refined. Story cards are drafted, illustrated, and assembled. Little paper treasures slowly gather into neat stacks across my drawing desk.

I thought you might enjoy a peek behind the scenes at some of the work currently in progress.

Today I’m sharing a few sketches, pencil roughs, and works-in-progress from the studio.

Every illustration, story card, and paper keepsake begins the same way: with a blank page and an idea inspired by the natural world.

Wild Things Mail Club by Terri Wilhelm

It’s certainly a slower process than clicking a button and sending something to a printer, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Part of the joy of Wild Things Mail Club is knowing that each mailing has been thoughtfully created, one illustration at a time.

Thank you for following along on this little adventure. I can’t wait to tuck these finished pieces into future envelopes and send them out into the world.

More to come soon.

Meet the Residents

Felix and Marty Forest Rangers by Terri Wilhelm

Every story needs a few residents, and I’d like you to meet two of the first woodland friends you’ll encounter in Wild Things Mail Club.

Wild Things Mail Club Logo

Felix the squirrel is a forest ranger in Acorn Hollow, part of the North Woods. He takes his duties very seriously.

Marty the crow is less concerned with rules and more interested in discovering what’s around the next bend in the trail.

Felix and Marty Forest Rangers by Terri Wilhelm

One autumn morning, Felix was busy inspecting acorn caches and checking trail markers when Marty swooped down with urgent news.

“I’ve found something unusual,” he said.

“What sort of unusual?” asked Felix.

“The interesting sort.”

And before Felix could ask another question, Marty was already halfway across the meadow.

Needless to say, Felix followed.

Their adventure begins this August.

Until then, I thought you might enjoy this little peek into their world.

A Peek Inside the Mailbag

Wild Things Mail Club Logo

Over the next few weeks, I will be filling envelopes with small illustrated treasures and imagining them making their way to mailboxes across the country.

Today I wanted to share a tiny peek inside the mailbag.

Wild Things Mail Club member certificate

Nestled among the papers are a few special items for Wild Things Mail Club founding members:

• A membership card

• A membership certificate

• An envelope seal sticker to mark your correspondence

And that’s only the beginning.

There are still story cards, paper treasures, illustrations, and a few surprises waiting to be discovered.

For now, I’ll leave the envelope mostly closed and let you peek through the keyhole.

More sneak peeks are coming soon as we get closer to the first mailing in August.

Until then, keep your eyes open for wonder.
