We went on a retreat last weekend with my brother to northern Wisconsin to stay at my parents’ cottage on the Green Bay side of Lake Michigan.
The bay was completely frozen over, so we felt like we were in Antarctica.
We blazed a trail with our snowshoes and cross country skis.
We haven’t had much sunshine in Madison over the past couple of snowy months, so it was wonderful to be in such a sunny, bright world.
We came upon some rough “waters.”
We climbed some “ridges.”
We nearly fell into a “crevasse.”
We reached the “peak.”
After three hours of snowshoeing and skiing on the snow and ice in the bright sunshine, we headed back to the cabin for more rest and relaxation.
It was a very peaceful, breath-taking place to spend a weekend. Fresh air, sunshine, blue skies, and good company – I smiled the entire time.

The whole Smith clan wished they could have seen that. It’s hard to imagine. Thanks for the pictures!
