Refashion Idea

I really love seeing how people are recycling their wardrobes, rather than throwing things away or donating them to Goodwill.

Linda’s crochet rug, made from strips of old clothing and fabrics, is simple, unique and gorgeous.

I also love her refashioned t-shirts, where she combined two old t-shirts into one hip top.

I have these two long-sleeved cardigan sweaters that I used to wear all the time, but not so much anymore.

Instead of getting rid of these boring old sweaters, I would like to refashion them into short-sleeved cardigans, like this one pictured in the January 08 issue of Lucky.  So cute!

I am planning to measure the sleeves and sew a hem before cutting so the yarn doesn’t unravel. But then what? How should I finish the hem? Should I embellish with ribbon (as shown, kind of sloppily), or cut apart an old blouse and attach the cuffs? Any other ideas or suggestions before I starting cutting?
