I was so inspired by Ashley’s fall quilts that I decided to make something with fall colors too.
I pulled these fabrics from my stash, fat quarters from the Lightning Bugs fabric collection by Heather Ross and a few solids for contrast.
In addition to the four placemats, I made a potholder and mug mat with the extra squares.
The backing is this cool linen fabric I bought at Purl Patchwork while we were in NYC last November. It’s fun to have these cheerful fabrics and colors brightening up our table.
These are wonderful. I love the Heather Ross squares and the backing fabric you used from Purl is adorable. I feel like sewing something patchwork today now.
Gorgeous placemats! I adore the fabrics espeically the linen used for backing! You are sooo taleneted! Hope your having a wonderful merry happy weekend and love to you!
I love the fabric that you chose. The pink really brightens it up, while the browns and golds still have that fall feeling. Love the sweet fabric you chose for the back!
As always–so cute! I typically don’t like Fall colors, but these Fall-themed quilts are growing on me! Nice job!

Very nice! Fall, but subtle. Often very very dark, drab colors are used for fall, but these still feel fresh and pretty — not heavy. Great job!

Thanks so much, Jacqueline! How sweet of you. Terri
Those are wonderful Terri! I love the fabrics and colors you chose!
Great work!! I love to sew but have NEVER tried quilting. Beginning with a smaller project sounds much more my speed!

Love those fabrics together. How fun is that to look at while you eat?
Take care,
Cassie
These are so cute! I wouldn’t be able to eat on them…
