I have always wanted to try making a wonky block, but I just couldn’t make time in September to join in the wonky log cabin quilt-along. I’ve also been admiring the cool wonky star blocks I see out on flickr. I think I’m drawn to them because they are so whimsical.
I made one block with some of my favorite fabrics, quilted it and attached binding for a mini quilt.
I used this tutorial, which was very easy and quick. I think this might make a fun gift, which can be hung on the wall, used as a hot pad or table decoration. I’m keeping this one!
It turned out great! Wasn’t it fun to make?? I want to make more!!
I love your wonky star! I think it was well worth the wait, because you definitely got it right!
Nice wonky star! I have a table runner ready to quilt with 3 of these stars and not really sure how to proceed. This looks good!
How cool! I really love the star, but I definitely love that backing fabric. So pretty!
Aren’t wonky stars a lot of fun! I recently made my first one to send off for the quilts of valor project…and couldn’t believe how much fun it was to make!
I really like your wonky star. It looks like a lot of fun to make.
Just gorgeous Terri!! I can see these made up in Christmas colours.
I really adore your star! And those are such gorgeous fabrics. 🙂 Have a lovely merry happy day and a wonderful weekend! Love to you!
Very nice wonky star and love the fabric also. I made some of these blocks for a row robin swap, unfortunately not for myself yet.
I love this. Chocolate Lollipop is always a good choice. I was so excited when I went into my local quilt shop last week. They had a bunch of new bolts from that line which surprised me because I thought they discontinued it.
I had good intentions of joining the wonky cabin quilt a long but I think I’ll just have to wait until we move before signing up for any more commitments. 🙂
I need to get over and check out that tutorial, thanks for the link!
I love the fabric that you used on the back!
