Got 15 minutes to work on a new idea (or an old idea), try a new technique, or just mess around with your fabrics or scraps? I don’t take time to do this, so I am going to try it.
I am starting to notice my scraps more these days! So when I have pieces left over from a quilting or bag project, I cut some of those pieces into manageable sizes, such as these 2-1/2 inch squares. I have noticed lots of the cool pinwheel projects being made this year, so I spent 15 minutes making a stack of half-square triangles to be arranged into pinwheels.
I love the tone-on-tone colors of these fabrics, so I think I’m going to keep going with this pinwheel play.
I’m not sure where this will end up, but for now, I don’t care. Just playing.
Terri so glad you found time for some playtime. Those pinwheels are a great fifteen minute project and those fabrics couldn’t be more adorable. Love it!!
It is so much fun to play with fabric. Pinwheels are up and comming I think, everywhere I look I see something made from them. I myself really like them and I really like your colors. You use brights which I am loving these days. Keep up the playtime for you always come up with great things. Have fun.
The color palette here is gorgeous Terri.
Those fabrics are wonderful together! I know you will come up with something that will make us all green with envy!
Take care, Cheryl
So sweet! For your sake though, I hope the air is still and the only spinning these little pin {wheels} are doing is in your head!
Fun! Getting to play around is so great!!
It’s amazing what can be accomplished in just 15 minutes. The pinwheels are adorable!
A very pretty beginning. Isn’t it amazing what happens once you just start? I never quite over that feeling of, “Wow…this is actually going to work out!” Wishing you lots of luck and many more 15 minute blocks of time. Can’t wait to see the end result.
ooo, I love those fabrics, and the pinwheels.
so pretty, terri! do you make your triangles bigger and then trim them down? i just started doing that and since i have accuracy issues sometimes (that’s putting it nicely) it helps me out a ton, even though it adds another step.
Love messing with pinwheels. I have triangle paper that I use to make mine. I have done a number of pinwheel quilts in the last few years.
Great idea to use those pretty scraps up. Before long you’ll have enough for a table runner or a quilt. Enjoy your play time.
“Just playing” is so much fun, and often when I come up with my best ideas. And you can’t go wrong with Sis Boom 🙂
“From little things BIG things grow”
Enjoy Terri.
Happy days.

I found your blog now and it is wonderful, I shall come often !
I have just started to make pinwheels with white and yellow-green-light blue stripes. I like yours very much, beautiful colours. For me it is always about the colours!
