Zipper Bag Stash

Have I ever mentioned I have a thing for zippered bags? Kind of an obsession, I should admit. They work perfectly to hold a small moleskin sketchbook and a couple drawing tools, or to hold a couple makeup goodies inside my purse.

I have been trying to make more simple projects like these with fun fabrics from my stash.

So I pulled a combination that made me think of candy. This style measures 6 inches wide by 4 inches tall.

I pulled another fun combination from my Garden Party stash, since I haven’t made much with that collection yet. This style measures 6 inches wide by 6 inches tall.

I made a little collection from hand-dyed fabrics I got from my friend Vicki.

I made another fun set of zipper bags with a stash of summery prints I picked up recently.

I can’t get enough of them, but I can’t possibly use all of these zipper bags, so I listed a few in my shop to share with others.

  1. They’re precious! I am a sucker for a good polka dot 🙂 I have a process question. Do you have zippers just laying around your house? Do you have to run out and get more when the “mood strikes?” Where do you get them?

    1. Thanks Joanna! They were a lot of fun to make and very handy to use. I used to have a bigger zipper stash with a selection of colors, but when I went back to school last year, I started to make it work with what I had instead of filling in as I used up certain colors.

  2. You are so productive, Terri. I don’t know how you do it! Love all your bags… especially the cherry print one!

Hope you’re having a great summer! xo

  3. I think I have this same obsession with zipper bags. And I get so sad when ones I’ve been using for a little while start to look “used.” they are my favorite thing to have on hand for little gifts!

  4. Hi Terri,

Oh these will sell so well. You could include a cupcake recipe in the cupcake one.
Happy creating and putting in zips!

  5. These are all so cute! I love making zipper bags, they are my “go to” project when I need something simple and quick to sew for my mental health. 🙂
I haven’t forgotten about the FMF I am sending you by they way. It’s buried in one of my 3 large bins of fabric I have been going through and I haven’t come across it yet.

    1. Yay, thank you! I love bags too, but especially these smaller zipper pouches. There really are a great go-to project when I need to sew and I’m short on time.
