I was arranging some fabric on my shelves recently when I discovered how cool an aqua print from each of Anna Maria Horner’s fabric collections look together.
These are all medium value prints, with not enough contrast, even with the addition of a solid aqua fabric. I’m thinking either black or extra dark brown would add some great drama.
In order to maintain a good life-work balance, I tend to be moving more toward making small projects, so I’m thinking about making a set of mini quilts to put on the nightstands in our guest room. Just need to decide what design to use. I definitely want to move this idea to the top of my to-do list.

Great idea to make smaller projects. A finish is a finish no matter the size and the result could be a fabulous art piece!
I think mini quilts are a great idea. I’ve had that in the back of my mind for a while as well!

I’ve admitted to myself in the last couple of weeks that I really am not a ‘big project’ person – too much fabric gets me stressed! I’m definitely going with smaller projects from now – much less drama for me lol. Cool how all of the fabrics work so well together.
Thinking the dark brown would be great with all that prettiness going on there!

Ooh Terri I love those colours! Every piece is so beautiful! I think you idea is great and with a darker colours they would make the most beautiful quilts!

Those fabrics really DO know how to play well together. Small quilts for the guest room is a great idea. How warming and welcoming! You know…for when I come to visit!
The fabrics are fabulous! I’ve enjoyed making mini quilts as well…it’s instant gratification!
I can’t wait to see what you make with these. I love the aqua and think it will turn out great with some dark brown mixed in. I know exactly how you feel about doing small projects. I have a mini quilt book and should really look through it again for some ideas. 🙂

Pretty. Yes, a dark chocolate brown will look awesome. I have a quilt top I made in dark chocolate brown and turquoise. Love it.
