Thankful Friday

Thank goodness it’s Friday. That means it’s time to take a moment to appreciate the big things and the small things I’m thankful for from the past week.

alliums

1. I am thankful for the chance to try sushi again for the first time in about 10 years. It was much better this time.

2. I am thankful for an afternoon cappuccino.

3. I am thankful for my milk frothing pitcher, so I can make my own cappuccinos and lattes at home.

4. I am thankful we got to see the new Star Trek movie. Loved it!

5. I am thankful we got to have lunch and a walk before the rain came.

6. I am thankful I had just enough gas to mow the lawn.

7. I am thankful for the sound of birds outside my home office window while I’m working on design projects.

8. I am thankful for a new nail polish color called Instant Iris.

9. I am thankful for blue skies in our forecast.

10. I am thankful to my friend, classmate and coworker Lorelyn who has been training me at one of my internships. I will miss her when she moves soon.

Hope you had a good week, and enjoy a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

  • #1 I am tickled to hear you say! What kind of roll did you have?

I planted those alliums you and I were talking about last year. They were bulbs. I haven’t seen anything pop up yet (I don’t know where they are either-ha!).

I would like to see the Star Trek movie…hubby thinks it isn’t true enough to the original himself, though. I wanna go!

    • Thanks Sara. I think it was the vegan tempura rolls and vegetable rolls I tried. Especially loved the tempura rolls.

Our alliums are up and almost done blooming. I wonder if you planted a bulb that only comes up once. Or maybe every other year.

Interesting comment about the new Star Trek movie because it’s a prequel, when Capt. Kirk and Spock were young and just out of the academy. There were a lot of references to previous Star Trek movies, which would be in the characters’ future, so we thought it was very true to the original series and subsequent movies. Chris Pine plays an awesome younger version of William Shatner. Actually, I thought all the actors played excellent younger versions of the original cast.

Beautiful flowers. I always order coffee, no room. Because…I get totally confused on the difference between latte, cappuccino and cafe au lait. They have explained multiple times. Can’t remember… A walk before the rain sounds wonderful. I’m thankful for friends with whom you can share honest opinions and feel safe. Those friends are to be treasured. Thanks…

    • Thank you! When I get a paying job, I hope to order coffee more often. I know what you mean about keeping track of the differences between lattes and cappuccinos. I have a coffee book, with diagrams, illustrations, and recipes, which I to refer to as far as how much warmed milk, steamed milk and froth to add to get what I want.

I’m SO thankful for your friendship too!

  • You’re brave. I won’t never try sushi lol I just can’t. 😀

    • I have to admit, I was nervous at first. But I really WANT to link sushi, so I really wanted to try it. Turned out pretty good, whew.

  • I mean I’LL never try* 😉 lol

  • I would like to see the Star Trek movie. Haven’t seen it yet!
