In order to fill up more sketchbooks, which is on my bucket list for 2015, I’ve been trying to draw a lot more lately. My goal is to draw something every day.
I just started a new sketchbook, which is always exciting. Since the first page can be intimidating, I decided to go big by illustrating a fancy frame, which was fun. But then what to do next…
… fill it with a variety of tiny butterflies fluttering around inside!
Since I was on a roll with the fancy frame, I drew three more small, fancy frames on the next page.
and then I filled those frames with little doodles, giving them a looking-glass feeling. A fun experiment!
Time slips away when I’m working in my sketchbook, especially when I have a steady beat going in the background. As you can tell, I’m passionate about drawing and creating beautiful art and surface patterns. Since I’m on a roll, I think I’ll keep going.

Your sketches are always beautiful Terri! The big frame reminds me of an ornate, antique mirror….lovely!
Thanks so much, Rene’! I do love drawing these fancy frames, and often use ornate antique mirrors for inspiration.
Love these antique gothic frames and the butterflies… the caterpillar adds that extra quirky and original touch.
Thanks so much Shell! I do love drawing fancy gothic frames.
