In order to fill up more sketchbooks, which is on my bucket list for 2015, I’m having fun coming up with new drawing prompts, so I’ve been trying to sketch A LOT more lately. One thing I’m doing is a monthly calendar, but instead of using it like a diary, I’m using it to do a daily doodle.
For the month of October, I worked on a theme centered around the spookiness of October. I have to admit that I always have the most fun concepting and illustrating the initial grid with the borders and hand-lettering.
As you can see, I usually just fill up every square in this grid, rather than just the days of the month. And now it’s time to move on to November!

I love this. And what a great idea to have a calendar of doodles.
Thanks so much! It’s been a fun daily/monthly project to work on this year. At first I struggled to keep up, but lately I end up finishing early. Can’t wait to see all 12 months together!
