Week 8 Sketchbook Page: Wild Animals

In order to continue my mission to draw all the time and fill up more sketchbooks in 2016, I’m working on a new weekly theme to do daily drawings, while experimenting with watercolor. At the end of each week, it’s nice to have lots of new drawings and a full page illustration.

I’ve been trying to draw all sorts of animals, so last week’s theme was a mismatch of Wild Animals, with a light splash of color and some doo-dads in the background.

Can’t wait to turn this sketchbook page into fun new digital art! Happy drawing!

New Art Project for 2016: Week 1

In order to continue my mission to draw all the time and fill up more sketchbooks in 2016, I came up with a new grid to help me stay on track each week. I’m going to use a grid like this to do daily drawings with a weekly theme, while experimenting with watercolor. At the end of each week, it will be nice to have seven new drawings and a full page illustration.

My first theme is arctic wildlife, with a background wash of light blues.

I have been making a list of themes and things to draw, so this year should be full of more creative challenges. I’m looking forward to bringing my sketchbook pages onto the computer for lots of new digital art this year. Happy drawing!

New Pages in My Sketchbook

In order to draw daily and fill up more sketchbooks, which is on my bucket list again for 2016, I always have fun coming up with new drawing prompts. My goal is to draw as much as possible, to draw something every day, and to eventually draw everything. Yes, everything! 😉

I had so much fun illustrating this new series of wildlife and nature-inspired scenes in my Moleskin sketchbook!

sketchbook page: on the move

“On the Move”sketchbook page: howling

“Howling”sketchbook page: doe woods

“Edge of the Woods”sketchbook page: buck woods

“Buck Woods”sketchbook page: wings

“Wings”sketchbook page: hiding in wood pile

“Hiding in the Wood Pile”

The next step is to get these on the computer and draw them in Illustrator for some digital art.

Happy drawing!
