Ever wonder what it’s like to live in the upper Midwest during winter? Most people probably haven’t had that thought come to mind, but I’ll show you anyway. We woke up to this scene!
Our local news reported that the Madison area received 15 to 18 inches of snow. It was blowing too, making it hard to get an accurate measurement. You get the idea with this picture.
It took us awhile to dig out. (thank goodness for the snowblower)
Then the plow came by. (our mailbox is buried in there, really!)
The sun started to peak out late this afternoon, so now we can enjoy this winter wonderland.
Next up, blizzard winds and sub-zero temperatures for the next couple days! You will find me in my sewing room.
I was wondering about you! I am so glad to hear that you are safe and secure! And how lucky to be able to spend the time sewing, I wonder if we can get a too hot day in the summer??? he,he.
Enjoy the time to sew — and for goodness sake, stay warm! We don’t always get snow here in the winter, but occasionally I enjoy getting snowed in :).
Oh.my.gosh. I’m in shock. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that much snow. Please tell me you did not have to drive to work in that!!! We now live in a pretty small town, and all we heard about was the big storm that was coming our way. We woke up to a little white coating with the grass peeking through and a wind advisory. I guess you got all the snow!
…and I can’t get over that picture of your mailbox!
Inspiring quilt-making weather, if ever I’ve seen!! I’m so happy I stocked up batting in October!
Terri,
Wow! You really got a lot of snow. Looks like hard work getting dug out. I hope you stay warm and get a lot of sewing done! 🙂
Have a great rest of the week!
That snow is amazing…good thing you have a wonderful indoor hobby for weather like this. It’s really beautiful to see the pictures…but I don’t have to be out in it!
The snowblower is a good thing! We will own one when we live back in the land of snow:) Glad you are safe and may you get lots of sewing done!
Terri, these are gorgeous! I LOVE snow and thanks so much for sharing photos…this is as close as i get to see snow. hehe Have a lovely merry happy day and love to you!
Wow! It’s so pretty. Brings back some snowblowing memories.
Wowsa! That’s a lot of snow! We might have almost that much here in Michigan. As a lot of people have said, it is a great time to catch up on sewing projects!
Wow! I wish we’d get some of that fluffy stuff. But it has been unseasonable cold here~17° in the morning warming to a balmy 40°. . . I know I’m a whiner, but it just never gets that cold here. No rain, no snow just a lot of COLD! Enjoy your picture perfect yard and your sewing room!
amazing when snow get that high!!!!!!! stay warm inside and make that beautiful treeskirt sweet girl.
