Garden Discovery

I swear I don’t remember planting these tulips last fall. Who else would have planted them? It must have been me. I guess I don’t remember them looking this pretty on the packaging.

I love the two-tone colors and the lily shape when they are open. Even the leaves are variegated.

Look at what happens to them at dusk.

And then the next day, they open up and shine again.

That is one of the many wonderful things I love about spring, discovering treasures in our gardens.

  1. Lol – I often have things pop up in the garden which I know that I’ve not planted – we have had some beautiful flower surprises. Bulbs though – hmmm, I don’t know about that one unless they had been dormant for a couple of years (do bulbs do that??) I don’t know :0)

They are really pretty tulips though so whether you planted them or they are a gift from mysterious Mother Nature aren’t they lovely!

I love flowers that go to sleep on a night time and reawaken the next day. Enjoy your tulips and all that the garden will bring in the coming months.

  3. You never know what you got when Spring comes around. Little things just pop up thru the earth and you never know what it is until it blooms. Just wonderful.

  4. Squirrels are known to dig things up and replant them elsewhere. Hope your neighbors aren’t missing that beautiful flower!!

  5. Hello Terri, Love those tulips. I never knew they opened and closed like that. Twice last week I dug up the same daffodil bulb while I was planting some stocks and snapdragons. They are tough so I expect it will bloom. I agree with your Mum about having a light coloured material inside the bags/clutches. Why is it so dark in there same thing happens with my wallet. Have a great day.

  7. SO pretty! We’re playing this game all around our home-we moved in in August when most things had already closed up or disappeared for the winter. We’ve found lilies, irises, azaleas, and various other flowers that I cannot identify (husband says it’s a “rhode-something”). At any rate, beautiful tulips-enjoy them!
