Nice to be Home

My apologies for being so quiet around here the past few days!

I just returned from a week at my parent’s cottage, visiting with my sister before she goes back to China for the last year of her international job assignment.

We spent a lot of time swimming, hiking, shopping and eating.

As you can see, we also took time to notice the flowers (and butterflies!) and watch the sun set.

It feels really nice to be home again. I’m so excited to spend the day in my sewing room. What have you all been up to lately?

  1. Looks like you had a peaceful time away–those are always so nice and especially when you get to spend it with the ones you love:) The pic of the yellow daisy is beautiful. It reminds me that I am trying to incorporate more yellow into my stash these days;)

Make sure you let your sister know that the wool felted ornaments were greatly appreciated and will be treasured for many, many years. They are so unique and the fabric is to die for:)

  2. Love the pictures! I want to follow that path through the woods:)
I’m painting the bathroom today. Not exciting, but needs to be done:)

  3. Beautiful flowers, love the wooded path and the sunset wow, so gorgeous!! It’s always nice to get home after a little vacation. I hope you had a great time with your sister and family.

  4. What a wonderful way to spend a week! My sister has been gone all summer and I cannot WAIT to get a few uninterrupted days to hang out with her. It’s funny-that one you used to chase around and torment turns into the one you miss the most! Glad you’re home and you had a chance to get some much needed QT with your sister 🙂

  5. Terri so glad you were able to spend some more time with your sister. I love your photos. How nice of the butterfly to cooperate and pose for a picture 😉 Can’t believe how many shades of yellow are in the flower picture. Welcome home!

  6. Welcome home! I love that sunset photo and that yellow flower is gorgeous. I don’t think I have seen anything like it before. 🙂

  7. I am away from home to so I guess that is why I didn’t notice you were gone. I don’t have internet where I’m at unless I go to the bookstore so you know where I am now. Love the pics. It looks like a lovely place. Peaceful and so calm. It is nice to get away. I have one of those planned for Oct. and it could not come to soon. Have fun sewing.
