I continue to be inspired to illustrate the natural world around me, especially as things warm up and come back to life in full color. That’s what I love about spring.
This past week, I smelled the sweet smell of fresh cut grass for the first time in over six months. It really was a sweet smell!
I also noticed the buds on our trees are finally starting to open.
I always struggle with ideas for my journaling on these cards, so I was excited to find a great quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson that fit well with my illustration.
Stop by our Flickr group to see what Michelle and Sandra have been doing on their fun art cards.
Those are wonderful Terri. You are doing such amazing work. You are or should be about done with this year of school ??? I hope all is going good for you. From what you have been showing us I think you are doing great. Keep it up.
I think nature is the greatest inspiration to be found and I love how you are capturing all of these special moments. What a fabulous journal this will be to look back on.
Such a beautiful quote you have used on your crab apple tree card and fantastic lettering too – it really fits well.
Hi Terri! Great cards again and they have really the sense of nature! I’m happy to hear that you have enjoyed your garden!
Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog!
Have a lovely May! xxx Teje
I love that smell, too! Unfortunately, it smells like wild onions during the first few times we mow here. We’ve had so much rain that the grass is growing fast! I always enjoy your journaling:)
I like the fun you bring to your work.
I love the grass card! We finally had to mow our lawn for the first time in months. It was great. I love your art cards. I wish I would have been able to start something like it…maybe next year. 🙂
Great depictions of both the grass and the buds on the trees Terri. I’m glad spring is hitting your neck of the woods.
Such an appropriate quote you found Terri. Oh and the smell of cut grass even smells lovely down under.
Happy Spring day to you.

Very cool, Terri! I love Emerson… one of the Transcendentalists!
It’s great to see your art cards each week, Shell’s too!
Very sweet Terri! I love the trees and branches-so sentimental and so ready for spring!
Ahhh, nothing like the smell of fresh mown grass! We have to mow here, every single week, so much rain.
I love the cards, and the quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson is perfect!
