My husband asked me to make new mini quilts to put on our nightstands. He was bored with the previous ones. So I laid out a stack of fabrics I thought he might like, and let him choose two prints for his nightstand and two for my nightstand.
Here’s what his looks like:

He went with a combination of an African safari map and batik fabrics. He also wanted a simple patchwork design, so I used my pattern for my checkerboards (which are sold out). I love how rich they look on the wood stain of our nightstands. I also love how easy and quick these minis were to make over the course of a week.
These are really cute Terri:) They do look absolutely great on your nightstands!!
Hi Terri! What a wonderful pair! Great fabric choice and I love the check pattern!
Have a lovely weekend!

They look fantastic Terri and it’s great to see another use for mini quilts. I like how they are co-ordinating but different at the same time 🙂
Hello Terri,
Just beautiful. love that they match and you can play checkers too if you want.
Happy creating.

Wow Terri I love your minis! You did such a great job on them. I really love the fabric combinations you chose especially with the batik. I have always turned away from batik prints because I never have seen anything I like made with them. This is making me want to give them a try now. 🙂
Maybe I’ll attempt a mini quilt when I get my sewing motivation back. It’s left me the past couple weeks and I wish it would hurry up and return!
How cute…cute of him to ask, and cute of you to abide (and to let him choose the fabrics!). They turned out sweet.
What a great idea!! I want mini quilts on MY nightstand now! If I only had one…you see we just have ONE and it is on Andrew’s side. 😛 Supposedly there are matching ones in the works in the workshop…I’ll believe it when I see it-and then I’ll cover them with mini quilts!
These are fabulous. I agree with Joanna, above. I want mini quilts on our nightstands too!
