I packed an activity bag of things to keep me busy while I was in the waiting room during Dave’s eye surgery. I pulled out my sketchbook to work on a few ideas. First, I finished my February calendar page. Then I starting drawing eyes, something I’ve always wanted to learn how to draw. I figured it was as good a time as any, since we were at the hospital for Dave’s eyes.
I also drew the key that we used to lock the locker where we stored Dave’s clothes during surgery. After the doctor came out of the operating room to give me an update, he gave me the eye drops Dave was supposed to use for the next couple weeks. So I added that little bottle to the page. Finally, I added the paper bracelet Dave had to wear as a patient. I do love working like this! Such a fun way to experiment and learn.
I think you succeeded! I hope Dave is continuing to improve.
Thanks Vicki! I should have mentioned Dave is definitely continuing to improve. He said he feels about 98% back to “normal.” And he doesn’t have that Terminator look anymore, with the black eye and bloodshot eyes!
You’ll always remember where and why you drew this page – it’s really good. Glad to hear Dave’s surgery went so well x
I glad things are continuing to improve. Loved the video. I want to make sure Mark watches that–that is exactly something he would love to do!
Those are pretty good. Eyes are pretty tough to draw well! You’ve done great!
Your eye drawings are great! And a wonderful way to commemorate this moment!
Happy Valentine’s Day Terri and to Dave! Hope you had a great day. I like your eyes. What a great page. How Dave’s eyes are heeling? I bet they look great!
