Thank goodness it’s Friday. That means it’s time to take a moment to appreciate the big things and the small things I’m thankful for from the past week.
- I’m thankful for the great visit we had last week with my in-laws.
- I am thankful for a wonderful package in the mail full of maps from my in-laws from their recent trip to Vienna.
- I am thankful for more illustrated map projects. I have always loved maps; now I love to illustrate them; AND I’m lucky to get to do them for work.
- I am thankful for a bountiful raspberry crop, in spite of the mosquitos left behind by all the rain we’ve had this year.
- I’m thankful the air conditioning in my car is working again.
- I am thankful for a handwritten letter in the mail from a good friend. Ah ha, remember, the power of stationery and a handwritten letter.
- I am thankful for flexible managers at work these days.
- I’m thankful the days continue to stay light so late.
- I am thankful for nightlights.
- I am thankful for kettle corn.
Hope you had a good week too, and enjoy a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by!
Sounds like a good list of thankfulness and that you have had a good week. I’m thankful for little friends that want to come over and play with E. She’s having a sleepover with 3 friends tonight…campout style. Thankful for a hubby who enjoys entertaining the girls, too.
Thanks Stephanie! How fun to have a camp-out style sleepover! I remember doing that with my best friend. We usually had a tent pitched in the backyard to play in.
Hello Terri,
A wonderful list of things happening at your place. I am thankful for rain this week and sunshine now after a very foggy cold start to the day.
Terri I have just searched to see what kettle corn is, now I know and can understand why you like it.
Have a great weekend.
Bev.
Thanks Bev! So glad to hear you got some rain this week!
I should have included a little tip about what kettle corn is: a sweet-and-salty variety of popcorn that is typically mixed or seasoned with sugar, salt, and oil. (You put the sugar into the oil when popping the popcorn.) It was traditionally made in cast iron kettles, which are still really cool to see at our farmer’s markets.
I think I should do the same… write a thankful friday each week to myself. Love reading yours.
Thanks so much! I wasn’t sure if anyone still read these posts anymore!
Love kettle corn, haven’t had any in awhile. So happy that you have A/C in your car again–amen to that!
Thanks Sara. There’s a really great vendor at our farmers market that sells a mix of cheese and caramel flavored kettle corn. The popped kernels are huge, and it’s SO delicious! The estimate to fix my A/C was $1,000 last summer, so we just fill the system with one of those cans of coolant you can buy for $25 at the auto parts store. Works like new and lasts almost a year.
It sounds like you had a great week! I am thankful for sunshine to help the garden grow, and for family and friends! I hope your next week is just as wonderful!
