Colors of the Ocean Finished

Thank goodness for the break in the semester we had last week, when I made time to work on this project. I am excited to share my finished Colors of the Ocean quilt!

started this project as a part of Cherry’s quilt-along.

I made progress pretty quickly by finishing the top. And then it sat for awhile.

It was wonderful having time over spring break to quilt it and bind it. I love how the straight line quilting turned out. And I adore these colors. I am definitely sold on this modern look of solids and straight line quilting.

  1. This is AWESOME Terri!!! I really LOVE it. I need simple I guess according to my hubby instead of what he calls busy quilts!! LOL!

  2. Hi Terri! It is really so beautiful – the simple pattern and the most beautiful colour of the sea! xxx Teje

  3. And you must have been so happy to be able to photograph it outside on a sunny patio that wasn’t covered in snow!:)

  4. Ohmigoodness I just want to snuggle! I think you deserve a beach getaway so you can take some pictures with it stretched out on some soft sand and with the ocean waves! Love, love love it!

  5. It’s beautiful Terri – you did a fantastic job of the quilting. Of course you probably know that I’m going to say I adore the binding – it works so well with the solid colours. How brilliant that you were able to photograph it outside too in the dappled sunlight. I haven’t really done any straight line quilting yet but you are tempting me to give it a go – love it too.

  6. Making something very simple plan or however you want to say it is a breath of fresh air to me. I have seen serveral quilts using plan solid colors with a few blocks and they look so wonderful. I just love the colors you used. Fresh, clean that is what I think of.

  7. This is so awesome! I have a bunch of solid purples I want to make one of these quilts out of. I really like the polka dot binding you picked too. You’ve been busy! 🙂
