Thankful Friday, No. 9

Thank goodness it’s Friday. That means it’s time to take a moment to capture the things I’m thankful for from the past week, to appreciate the big and the small things.

Here’s a random list of things I’m thankful for this past week:

1. I am thankful it’s the first day of March, which means Spring is very near. February is my least favorite month.

2. I am thankful the stores are starting to put out seed packets and starter kits.

3. I am thankful for more daylight, giving us longer days as we move closer to Daylight Savings and the first day of Spring.

4. I am thankful a big design project was due this week. It’s nice to move on to the next design project.

5. I am thankful for movie night.

6. I am thankful for a full tank of gas.

7. I am thankful for a new issue of one of my favorite magazines.

8. I am thankful for salad bars.

9. I am thankful for Robin’s Eggs Easter candy.

10. I am thankful for coffee-flavored ice cream that comes in the tiniest container (6 oz.), which is good portion control.

Thank goodness it’s Friday. That means it’s time to take a moment to capture the things I’m thankful for from the past week, to appreciate the big and the small things.

First Robin Sighting 2013

Here’s what I’m thankful for this past week:

1. I am thankful my Angel kitty is feeling better since getting medication for a urinary tract infection.

2. I am thankful to the emergency veterinary office for being open 24/7, and for taking such good care of us.

3. I am thankful my car ran great all week after my husband fixed it last week.

4. I am thankful to my two teachers for their coaching, guidance, encouragement and positive feedback this past week on a few big design projects.

5. I am thankful for used books to add to my design reference library.

6. I am thankful for coupons, especially when buying toner for my home office printer.

7. I am thankful for sub sandwiches for lunch.

8. I am thankful for small pockets of free time I am learning to take advantage of, sometimes by doing nothing.

9.  I am thankful for a thoughtful letter from my mom with some great insight… on one of my notecards. So fun to get letters, especially on stationery I designed.

10. I am thankful to see a large flock of robins in our crab apple tree today. Yippee, I’m so excited over my first robin sighting and the best sign that Spring is near!

Thankful Friday, No. 7

Thank goodness it’s Friday. That means it’s time to take a moment to capture the things I’m thankful for from the past week, to appreciate the big and the small things.

car repairs

Here’s what I’m thankful for this past week:

1. I am thankful my husband was able to fix my car.

2. I am thankful to our friend Steve for lending me his car while mine was out of commission for a couple days.

That’s a good representation of how the rest of my week went, so that was all I was going to share today. But I just went out for a few errands and thought of a couple more good things.

3. I am thankful for a good checkup with my arthritis doctor. It’s been 4 years since I’ve had my knees drained. Exercising really pays off in many ways.

4. I am thankful the Buckle repairs zippers on jeans. The zipper broke on my favorite pair of jeans earlier this week.

5. I am thankful for the fabulous book Creative Thursday by Marisa Anne. It’s so inspiring and thoughtful. I’ve always loved her charming creatures so I also got an adorable care package full of her goodies too.

Happy Friday, my friends! That means it’s time to take a moment to capture the things I’m thankful for from the past week, to appreciate the big and the small things.

Here’s what I’m thankful for this past week:

1. I am thankful my cold is slowly starting to go away after 2 weeks of being sick.

2. I am thankful my aunt Madelon is able to move back to her apartment today, after spending the past 2 months in a nursing home recovering from a broken hip.

3. I am thankful my cousins Jack and Nancy had a healthy baby boy this past week… their 5th!

4. I am thankful for all-wheel drive on my car, especially on snowy, slippery, slushy days.

5. I am thankful for boots that keep my feet dry and warm on snowy, slippery, slushy days.

6. I am thankful for fleece sweatpants.

7. I am thankful for Valentine’s cards in the mail.

8. I am thankful for a satisfied freelance design customer.

9. I am thankful for the variety of crafts supplies, since I have a serious craving for a crafty project these days.

10. I am thankful for beautiful blue skies, my favorite color, especially after a week of clouds, fog, rain and snow.

Happy Friday, my friends! That means it’s time to take a moment to capture the things I’m thankful for from the past week, to appreciate the big and the small things.

Here’s what I’m thankful for this past week:

1. I am thankful to my brother for being the most amazing brainstorming partner and coach.

2. I am thankful to my classmates for feedback and fresh ideas on a difficult project.

3. I am thankful my sister liked her birthday presents. I gave her one of my field guide calendars, and I made her an iPad case from a new pattern I came up with (similar to my drawing tablet case).

4. I am thankful to a local grocery store for having such fresh and affordable fruit in the middle of winter.

5. I am thankful for orange juice.

6. I am thankful for Alka Seltzer cold medicine.

7. I am thankful for Kleenex tissues.

8. I am thankful for the latest snow storm of 6 inches we got this week. Our temps were really warm earlier in the week,  then we had flooding rain, then we had snow, and now very cold temps. It’s nice to have winter weather when it’s supposed to be winter.

9. I am thankful for spontaneous movie nights.

10. I am thankful to everyone who left a comment on Monday’s post for a chance to win Rene’s Peace Quilt pattern. My random number generator chose comment no. 1, which was left by Vicki H. Congrats Vicki!

Happy Friday, my friends! That means it’s time to take a moment to capture the things I’m thankful for from the past week, to appreciate the big and the small things.

Here’s what I’m thankful for this past week:

1. I am thankful my kitties are feeling better. They had the sniffles and sneezes this week.

2. I am thankful for showers. They are so refreshing!

3. I am thankful for coffee. I look forward to getting up in the morning so I can have a cup of coffee.

4. I am thankful for cinnamon rolls.

5. I am thankful for my crock pot. It’s wonderful coming home to a hot meal ready for us.

6. I am thankful to my husband and my sister (and a glass of wine) for making me feel better when I was feeling sorry for myself. Thank goodness that rarely happens.

7. I am thankful for a good night’s sleep, especially after being in a bad mood the day before.

8. I am thankful for the clear winter nights we’ve had lately for star gazing. So much to see and wonder about!

9. I am thankful for the beautiful orange sunrises we’ve had lately on cold winter mornings.

10. I am thankful for a holiday party tonight where I get to see some great old friends.

Thankful Friday, Last One For 2012

Thank goodness it’s Friday! At the end of each week, I’ve been taking a moment to capture the things I’m thankful for from the past week, to appreciate the big and the small things.

Here’s my list of things I’m thankful for this past week:

1. I am thankful to Santa (i.e. my husband) for the keyboard, Bamboo drawing tablet, and purple Chucks.

2. I am thankful to my mom for all her generosity, not just gift-giving, but kindness, help with shopping, preparing meals for our holiday festivities, and great conversations.

3. I am thankful to my brother for making the trip to our house to celebrate Christmas together.

4. I am thankful to everyone who sent us Christmas cards.

5. I am thankful for holiday leftovers.

6. I am thankful for rebates and big coupons.

7. I am thankful for quiet days off between Christmas and New Year’s.

8. I am thankful for a new shovel since we broke one of ours shoveling out from our big snow storm last weekend.

9. I am thankful for the fresh snow we are getting today, which always makes things feel festive.

10. I am thankful for an amazing 2012 on this last Friday of the year. It was a year full of many highs and some lows too, with lots of learning and adventures along the way.
